I love this color of blue and as soon as I saw the scrapbook paper I picked it up to use on pendants. Before I paint any of my unfinished wooden pieces I always prepare them with acrylic gesso (I use the Liqutex brand). I use acrylic gesso for several reasons.
- After you paint with the initial coat of gesso the gesso will “raise” the grain of the wood. You will need to sand the piece lightly and this will give a nice smooth finish to paint on.
- Gesso will help give “tooth” to the surface and the paint will adhere much better.
- Using acrylic gesso will help cover the burnt edges on the wood from the laser cuts.
This pendant is the size of a domino piece and it measures 2 inches by 1 inch and is 1/8 inch thick. You can find this rectangle in my etsy shop found here and I also carry the same size 2 inches by 1 inch by 1/8 with rounded corners and they are found herein my etsy shop.
