Every year my painting group hosts holiday boutique (I will talk a little more about the boutique throught the rest of this year) but I wanted to give everyone a preview of what I am working on.
Hear is the final project
As I always do I search the end caps at Target looking for clearance items I can convert to really cute Christmas items. I had been watching this cutie and when the box was marked down to $2.98 I snatched it up
First I wiped down the top (lid)… didn’t need to do anything to the lower box as the white was perfect. I used Target brand rubbing alcohol and a paper towel to clean the lid of any oil, grease or dirt that maybe on the top.
Next I spray painted the lid with Gloss Apple Red (note to self always wear gloves when spray painting as it is almost impossible to get red paint off of fingernails). I used Rust-oleum Painters Touch spray paint and let me say i LOVE this paint. I have used other brands of spray paint and hands down this is the BEST!!!!
Next I added red and white ribbon, little Christmas greenery, little white roses but then I ran into a problem in that I had no little red berries for accent. So I pulled out the 3/8 unfinished wooden balls I see in mylittlewoodshop here
Spray painted these little guys with the same Gloss Apple Red (Note I used blue painters tape, turned it upside down on a piece of cardboard and it held the little balls really nice.
Finally I sprayed away
Glued the berries on the lid and Done!!!! Project now ready for the Holiday Boutique
